Human breath consists of more than 3000 organic compounds, many of which are relevant biomarkers for various diseases. Organic compounds (OCs) and other small molecules can provide a fingerprint of the metabolite production that occurs when we breathe. Based on published literature and extensive research conducted by Breath of Health on symptomatic and asymptomatic patients and a variety of upper pulmonary tract diseases, Breath of Health was able to identify the specific COVID19 markers. We filtered out any additional markers that were present due to other medical conditions and background diseases such as diabetes etc. By cross-referencing and analyzing the data, we are able to identify multiple wavelengths in the FTIR that are essential for identifying a COVID19 infection

Clinical Research - Studies
Clinical research is an ongoing effort at Breath of Health. Clinical trials approved by the Ministry of Health in Israel are currently being conducted at Shiba Tel Hashomer and Hadassah Hospitals. Further research and studies are being conducted in other world-renowned medical centers around the globe.

Using Breath of Health's fixed algorithm, our results so far show that Both of Health achieved a correlation of 96.33%.
Breath of Health was also able to achieve accurate correlation with the CT (Cycle Threshold) score of subjects who tested positive for COVID-19.

Breath of Health has decided to host the FTIR
(Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) as an analysis system because it is available, sensitive, mobile and easy to use. This is another limiting factor in choosing markers that are readily detectable by FTIR.
The algorithm used by Breath of Health has achieved a repeatable and stable correlation of 96.33% when compared to the positive and negative results of GeneXpert Systems and NeuMoDx Molecular, Inc. PCR. Breath of Health was also able to achieve accurate correlation with the CT (Cycle Threshold) score of subjects who tested positive for COVID-19.
